We use SmarterSelect for our grants and scholarships. It is easy to pull analytics, create applications, approve and share with evaluators.

Pros

How easy it is to pull up reports and customize data

Cons

Unable to search a single person across multiple grant applications.

Customer Service is great and responds quickly.

Pros

Very easy to use. Easy set up. Reports are also very easy to generate.

Overall, Smarter Select has made collecting and evaluating grant applications more efficient. I find that I have to constantly re-learn how to do simple things in the software; it's a bit cumbersome to use and often confusing.

Pros

It's easy to customize the application forms, easy to invite reviewers. I like not having to track emailed applications and attachments - Smarter Select makes it easy to collect applications and attachments!

Cons

Downloading applications is cumbersome and applicants find using Smarter Select confusing - it doesn't autosave their work, but the "Save" button is greyed out and inconspicuous.

Making it work for our needs....

Having the ability for applicants to apply online is critical to our operation and staying current and relevant. SmarterSelect has been helpful but there are limitations to the software for the ways that we use it.

Pros

As a super small non profit we needed a way to allow applicants to apply to our program and the services that we offer via an online application. We worked with smarter select to customize the application as much as the platform currently allows.

Cons

Not super user friendly for our needs. We need it for online application purposes. The software was set up mainly for grant purposes.

SmarterSelect makes scholarship management a breeze.

Using SmarterSelect has made my job as the scholarship coordinator extremely easy and effortless.

Pros

Using SmarterSelect, we are able to easily manage 15+ separate scholarship opportunities. The common application feature allows our students to apply for multiple awards with one application (they are still required to complete a separate essay for each scholarship) eliminating extensive repetition of demographic information and extracurricular participation. In addition, all of our reviewers are able to complete their assignments online at their convenience.

Cons

I really haven't found there to be anything that I am unhappy with.
